This got me thinking, and pretty fucking angry. What right do people think they have to not only inflict their pets on us when we’re walking down the road, I do not want your dog jumping up on me, trying to lick me and if you even suggest I should touch the damn thing I think it’s likely to be stampeded with my foot, shortly followed by you. But it isn’t just that, we have to endure the fæces stamped all over our cities. I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone would want to have one of these disgusting creatures anywhere near them let alone living with them in their house, eating I expect from their tables and shitting all over their gardens. Why the hell do you want a pet, you are bringing something up that will and cannot ever appreciate you or communicate with you only so that you can feed it shit and watch the shit come out the other end. I honestly believe pets should be banned from society, completely, no domesticated animals, whatsoever, apart from fish. I will allow that because they do not cause any harm apart from to the landscaping of your garden.

If we go back a few sentences, dog’s eating at tables. I have always loved going to restaurants in France but there seems to be a new phenomenon on the continent of allowing your dog to sit at the table in restaurants, I know your dog is so small it could fall through a crack in the floor but why not keep it in your fucking purse in the restaurant not slobbering all over your expensive dinner?

However, there is a breath of fresh air, it doesn’t seem we are alone with these feelings of contempt. Michael Johnson and the Johnson Banks studio seemed to have taken on the task of ridding us of some of the blights on our culture by launching a LoGoReDo every few weeks (well they have done two so far).

The first target was the very deserving T-Mobile, and they actually did an impressive job, but to be honest it would be hard to make the T-Mobile mark any more offensive. However, in all seriousness the new logo they created was actually, well, nice. This week it was the turn of BT, obviously quite a fresh topic what with all the new globe style logos around the place at the moment. I am not sure this was quite as successful as their first weeks work but still it’s lovely to see a design studio who care about design and want to show how things could be done better, and for free, in an hour and not over 18 months costing many thousands of pounds. It’s amazing how much easier and quicker branding can be without the client managers and actually, clients!

Suggestions for next weeks work, perhaps the London 2012 olympics logo, although maybe a little obvious, would it be too risque to suggest the BFI?
